CEREBRAL PALSY
CEREBRAL PALSY IS THE CONDITION WHICH IS NON PROGRESSIVE AND IS CAUSED BY DAMAGE TO BRAIN AT OR AROUND BIRTH.ITS DEVELOPS DUE TO DAMAGE TO CNS ND THIS DAMAGE TAKES PLACE BEFORE,AROUND AND AFTER BIRTH OF THE CHILD.

  • HYPOGLYCEMIA
  • GENETIC CAUSES
  • VISUAL PROBLEMS
NEONATAL CAUSES:

POSTNATAL CAUSES:
  • DELAYED CRY
  • SEVERE JAUNDICE

  3. PARAPLEGIA
  4. TRIPLEGIA
  5. HEMIPLEGIA
  6. MONOPLEGIA
  • ACCORDING TO TYPES
  1. SPASTIC 
  2. ATHETOID
  3. ATAXIC
  4. MIXED
TREATMENT:
PHYSICAL THERAPY IS VERY EFFECTIVE FOR THIS TYPE OF PATIENTS.
STRETCHING AND MOBILITY
NORMALISATION OF TONE
DEVELOPING POSTURAL REACTION
OROMOTOR TRAINING
SENSORY INTEGRATION
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY IS ALSO VERY USEFUL FOR THESE TYPES OF PATIENTS.
